Venyx remembers

The bed is a mess he has woken up from a terrible nightmare, it's the night his father dies. he sits up and thinks of the odd dreams he has been having. His father comes into his room, had he heard him?

"whats the matter?"

"It was only a dream don't worry. . . I'm going back to sleep."

Then he hears something. . . he runs from his room seeing his father being attacked by strange creatures, little black things with bright yellow eyes. His father dissolves before his eyes, and he saw his heart float up and turn black. In anger he attacked without thinking, he felt the sting of their claws, but focused only on one. It disappeared and then he felt like sleeping, a voice called to him, saying

"Open your heart to the darkness." And he had nothing to lose, he said.

"Only if I can avenge the death of my father!"

The Memory flashes in his head. . . He is playing on the islands and an older boy walks up to him.

"why are you by yourself?"

"I don't know. . . why?"

No kid should play by himself. . . but before venyx met him. . . he didn't have friends, he was a relatively shy child. The older boy began to introduce himself. . . .

"My name is -"

Venyx cuts himself off at this point, he doesn't have time to dwell in the caves of memory lane.

Looking at the crying child floods the memory back in his brain. The older boy finishes his introduction.

"Notirash"

"My name is Envy"

Notirash looked at him with curiosity.

"Why did your parents call you that?"

He looked up at the older boy and said.

"I will never know, I'm an orphan. I was adopted when I was two, and that is all I remember."

The older boy felt sorry for him, but it was so easy to.
